🤖 YouTube rebuilt its creator-brand matchmaking from scratch... Gemini now sorts through three million partners for you.
And a whole lot more!
Shopify Merchants Can Now Sell Inside AI Chats
Commerce just slipped into the chat window. Starting this week, Shopify merchants can sell directly inside ChatGPT, Google's AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, and the Gemini app through what the company calls Agentic Storefronts. Pricing, checkout, and inventory all stay synced from the Shopify admin, and merchants don't pay anything beyond standard processing rates.

Brands that don't even use Shopify for e-commerce can now join through a new Agentic plan and list products across those same AI channels.
Time to Put Claude to Work on Your Computer
Anthropic's Claude can now grab your mouse and get to work. When no direct integration exists, it'll point, click, scroll, and navigate your screen to finish the job, whether that means opening files or running through a browser. It asks permission every time.

Pair that with Dispatch, a feature that lets you assign tasks from your phone, and Claude handles them on your desktop while you're riding the train. Available in research preview for Pro and Max subscribers on macOS.

OpenAI Pulls the Plug on Sora
Sora is dead. OpenAI confirmed it's shutting down the AI video generator and rerouting that compute toward robotics research. The tool had a wild, brief life.
It launched in February 2024, sparked a wave of panic about AI-generated media, then rocketed to the top of Apple's App Store after the Sora 2 release in September 2025. Controversy stalked it the whole way, from backlash over depictions of Martin Luther King Jr. to copyright tangles with characters like Ronald McDonald.
YouTube Overhauls Its Creator Partnership Tools for Brands
Seventy-nine percent of Gen Z viewers say YouTube creators give them a sense of belonging, and YouTube wants advertisers to cash in on that trust. The platform rebuilt BrandConnect into YouTube Creator Partnerships, with Gemini-powered tools that comb through three million creators to find the right voice for any campaign.

Early results back the bet: advertisers who boosted creator-led Shorts saw a 30% conversion lift, and YouTube claims 86% higher long-term return on ad spend compared to paid social.
Meta Launches AI Program for 250 Million Small Businesses
"In the AI era, it should be easier than ever for people to build new businesses." That's Mark Zuckerberg in an internal memo announcing Meta Small Business, a new program aimed at the more than 250 million small businesses already scattered across the company's platforms. Three top executives will run it, including Meta President Dina Powell McCormick.
Their bet? If AI can hand small operators the same advantages that their larger competitors have enjoyed for years, Meta becomes the one holding the door open.
Only 15% of Pages ChatGPT Retrieves Make the Final Answer
Getting found by ChatGPT isn't the same as getting cited. An AirOps analysis of 548,534 pages across 15,000 prompts found that 85% of sources the AI pulled in never made it into the final answer. Your content still has to win a quiet audition inside the model's synthesis process.
Google rankings help considerably, with Position 1 pages earning citations 3.5 times more often than those outside the top 20. But nearly a third of all citations came from follow-up searches the AI spun up entirely on its own.

Snapchat Turns Single Photos Into Five-Second AI Videos
Most AI video tools hand you a blank prompt and wish you luck. Snapchat went the opposite direction. AI Clips, a new format in Lens Studio, lets developers lock in the creative direction up front.

Users just tap a photo, and five seconds later that image becomes a red carpet entrance or a surreal cinematic moment.Nobody types a word. Developers enrolled in Lens+ Payouts earn directly from each experience they design, which turns a clever party trick into an actual business model.
Search Budgets Are Quietly Shifting From SEO to GEO
The search line item looks the same on paper. Where the money goes inside it is a different story. Marketers are carving bigger slices of their SEO budgets for generative engine optimization, which means making content visible to chatbots instead of just Google.
Fifty-five percent of marketers surveyed by Scribewise already have dedicated GEO dollars. Pet food brand Pawco bumped spending 10% in Q1 alone to test LLM discovery, and PMG now recommends pilots at 1.5 to two times the existing search budget. The metrics are morphing too, as clicks give way to brand mention rates.

Yahoo Mail's New AI Planner Doubles as an Ad Channel
H&R Block just placed tax deadline reminders directly inside people's email planners. That's the best way to understand Yahoo's pitch at the 2026 NewFronts.
A new feature called Planner scans Yahoo Mail for deadlines, appointments, and tasks, then auto-builds a calendar around them. Advertisers can embed themselves into that daily routine through Sponsored Events, so the ad becomes the useful thing instead of the interruption.
Powering the whole operation is Yahoo Scout, an AI answer engine in beta that pulls intent signals as third-party cookies vanish.

Google Embeds Gemini Across Its Entire Ad Platform
Advertisers who added just one more Google Marketing Platform product to their mix saw a 76% lift in return on ad spend. Google wants that number to do the recruiting.

At the 2026 NewFront, the company showed how deeply Gemini now runs through Display & Video 360, from curating media packages before campaigns go live to powering a new Ads Advisor that can translate an uploaded media plan into a full campaign setup with a single prompt.
A privacy tool called Confidential Publisher Match also connects first-party data with streaming signals from publishers like Roku without exposing either side.
